RMBC have notified today of two new planning applications:

RB2020/1011, 12 Thirlmere Drive, North Anston (Single storey side extension).

RB2020/1042, The Bungalow, Quarry Lane, North Anston (Application to undertake works to a tree(s) protected by TPO No.7 dated 7th June 2002).

The deadline to get comments to RMBC about the first application is 27th July and for the second the deadline is 31st July.

Continuing Closure of Play Areas

Please note that the play areas maintained by Anston Parish Council at the recreation ground off Ryton Road in North Anston, off Lockwood Avenue in South Anston, and at Whitegates in North Anston remain closed for the time being.

In their role as the planning authority Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) notify Anston Parish Council of planning applications relating to the parish and we have today received notification of the following application:

RB2020/0915, 23 West Street, South Anston. Alterations to roof including raising of roof height to create rooms in roof space with rear dormer windows.

Cemetery - South Anston

Please note that the Parish Council operated cemetery at South Anston remains open for people to visit. Recent government legislation requires crematoria to close except for funerals and for cemeteries containing crematoria to also close except for funerals. However other cemeteries, such as the one at South Anston, can remain open.

Saying no to Garden Fires

The South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service is asking residents to pledge not to have garden fires during the coronavirus pandemic in order to not waste the time of firefighters and to support those people who have respiratory illnesses.

Coronavirus - Open Spaces

Under Government guidelines people are allowed to utilise parks and open spaces for exercise once a day as individuals or in family groups. Consequently the open spaces and recreation grounds maintained by Anston Parish Council remain open but people using them are required to adhere to the Government's guidelines on social distancing.

Coronavirus Pandemic - Supporting the Community
