Serving the people of Anston

Cllr Marie Wilkinson

Cllr Marie Wilkinson

Councillor

Anston Parish Council

Marie was born in Anston and has lived equally in both South and North Anston all her life. She has been part of the community for many years, having attended local schools, worked for local businesses, and raised her own family in the parish. She enjoys what our community is about, our open spaces, our local shops, and the many people she meets either around the village, or in Anston Stones Wood when walking her dogs.

She felt privileged to be co-opted onto the Parish Council in May 2019 as an independent member having wanted to be part of her local council and to help represent the people of Anston in the decisions made for our community in the future. Having previously been a Cub Scout leader for many years for 22nd Rotherham (Dinnington Packs) she has recently volunteered to become the new Guide Leader for the South Anston Guides.

Having had a career in HR Management Marie believes she has skills that helps her in her role as a local councillor, including working and dealing with all levels of people, working with diversity, managing change, supporting and working within a team.

Cllr Wilkinson is a member of the Council for the north ward of the parish and is a member of the Anston Stones Wood Local Nature Reserve, Finance, Land & Property and Staffing Committees of the Council.
