About five years ago the Parish Council asked the residents of Anston what made Anston special.  One of the top answers was 'open countryside'. Since then this response has been used by the Parish Council as a mandate to identify, and purchase when possible, plots of land which can be preserved as open areas for the enjoyment of residents.
